Catholic Ceremonies »

Catholic weddings in Italy are the only 'religious' legally binding wedding recognised in Italy. Therefore, only religious weddings with a Catholic rite can have legal validity and automatically registered world-wide.

  • If one of you was married before with a religious ceremony, you cannot marry with a catholic rite unless an official annulment was granted by the religious authorities
  • Requirements to get married with a catholic rite is that at least one of you is catholic.
  • A catholic ceremony will combine both a civil and catholic ceremony therefore there is no need to get married first at the town hall. The priest will marry you both religiously and legally.
  • An English speaking interpreter is required by law if you don’t speak Italian
  • Ceremonies last more or less 45 minutes
  • Couple's choice of readings
  • Religious and legal documents need to be provided… we’ll assist you with all the procedure!
